Our Story

Impact Family Church was founded by Pastors John and Alison Larkam as World Harvest Outreach Church, Inc on January 7, 1996 at the South Austin Recreation Center in Austin, Texas. The church enjoyed city-wide publicity, supernatural provision, and rapid growth, and moved to the Cherry Creek Plaza at the southwest corner of Manchaca and Stassney where we built out several suites and continued to grow. Next, we moved to Clint Small Middle School in preparation of obtaining our own property and changed our name to Impact Family Church. We then purchased the property previously owned by Jubilee Christian Center at 2909 West William Cannon Drive, and then merged the two churches together, as Jubilee’s pastor resigned his pastorate to return to evangelistic ministry.

Impact Family Church is a vibrant, growing church with a vision to reach and minister wholeness to the entire family with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Plans are in progress to build phases two and three, which will include:

a new children’s auditorium and classrooms,
Impact Child Development Center for infants through age five,
Impact Christian Academy, a Pre-K through Grade 5 Elementary School combining excellence in academics with an atmosphere of love, faith and grace,
Impact Bible Training Center, a bible school dedicated to training people in the Word and Spirit,
Impact Healing School where the sick and diseased can receive ministry through God’s Word and the laying on of hands,
a Television Studio, Administrative Offices and Additional Parking.

In addition to regular weekly worship services, Impact holds city-wide Miracle and Healing Services to minister to Austin’s sick and hurting.

Impact Family Church exists to reach people with the Good News message of Jesus Christ and help them become fully devoted followers of Him.

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:15-16)

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20)

CULTURE

At Impact Family Church, we take the Word of God and the Work of God seriously, so we work hard. Jesus is worthy of our best and we strive to be excellent in all that we do. However, we love to have fun, and so we play hard and laugh hard too. You could sum it up this way: we take God seriously, and ourselves, well, not so much. We also strive to love much, judge little, and honor all.

DREAMS

It is the dream of a Worshipping church in which God’s love and presence reigns supreme in our services and in the lives of our members.

It is the dream of a Word church in which God’s Uncompromised Word is taught and honored in our services and lived out in the lives of our members.

It is the dream of a Spirit church in which our services and the lives of our members are directed and led by the Holy Spirit and He is manifest in our services through signs, wonders and miracles.

It is the dream of a Praying church in which fellowshipping with the Father is the norm in the lives of our members and situations are changed by the power of God brought on the scene through prayer.

It is the dream of an Equipping church in which believers are equipped to live out their faith daily in their lives at home, at work, and in their communities all the time.

It is the dream of a Serving church in which individuals and families serve one another and their communities with their God-given gifts and talents to glorify God and present a Godly witness to the world.

It is the dream of a Family church in which our children are nurtured in God’s Word and grow up in an atmosphere of faith, hope, love and victory, and are taught that they “can do all things through Christ which strengthens them,” and that “all things are possible to him/her who believes.”

It is the dream of a Compassionate church reaching the Austin metropolitan area with the love of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit through our televised services and many outreaches, but mostly through the individual witness of our members who share the gospel openly to “their” world, proclaiming God’s love and mercy and that Jesus Christ is the answer to all of mankind’s needs and God’s answer to the sin problem.

It is the dream of a Regional church in which our multi-cultural and multi-generational members come from all over Austin and its surrounding communities, building relationships with one another and growing together in love and unity, creating a dynamic community of believers who share life together and grow in harmony with God and with one another.

It is the dream of a Tithing and Giving church that supports our numerous ministries and outreaches that are touching people and changing lives, impacting our city, state, nation and world, and from which this dream is perpetuated and fulfilled until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is the dream of Impact Family Church.
